A great hotel for the great price
If everything is so good about Zirka, why the hotel is so inexpensive? No secret - the rooms are small, with enough space for the bed, table, and fridge, though not for dancing. Other than that, the rooms fully comply with European norms for three-star hotels. Zirka has no restaurant because the hotel is located in the downtown and there are many cozy cafes nearby.
Odessa hotels - now also inexpensive
Traditionally, locals differentiated Odessa hotels not by the number of stars, but into the old and the expensive. Soviet-era hotels offer rooms from $18 - if, that is, a customer does not care. Thirty-year-old beds and fixtures, similar age of the last renovation, and usually no shower. It is worth clarifying whether the shower is private - often, it is attached to several rooms. Such old hotels rarely have reliable supply of hot water; they lack ventilation, efficient heating and air conditioning. Otherwise, the rooms would be large and interiors impressive.
Recently, excellent hotels began springing up in Odessa, whether newly built or lavishly renovated into four- or five-star establishments. If you do not mind paying their rates, then our recommendations are on their side. Just keep in mind that several hotels renovated some of their rooms only and picture them in advertising, while their guests have to accept entirely different rundown rooms.

You lose nothing by settling in a downtown hotel such as Zirka where trolley-bus gets you to the sea in ten minutes and taxi costs less than two euros. Downtown hotel is a more convenient evening location than beachside establishments since you will be closer to night clubs and restaurants, often within walking distance.
Zirka Hotel is located in the prime spot of Odessa, one block from Preobrazhenskaya St and within minutes walking to Deribasovskaya. At the same time, the hotel enjoys quiet residential surrounding. Trolley-bus and tramway stop right near the hotel to bring you to beaches and Arcadia nightlife district, respectively. Zirka Hotel is a short drive from railway station, two euros by taxi, and fifteen minutes from Odessa airport, where taxi should charge you about five euros to the hotel. There are several convenience stores, restaurants, and even night clubs near the hotel.
The hotel is also convenient for doing business in Odessa. Living in downtown means you do not have to spend hours in traffic jams trying to reach your partners. Major office centers are within walking distance to the hotel. Extensive placement of security cameras, ubiquitous fire detectors, and two-room accommodations make Zirka a good family hotel, too.
